The kids awoke at 5:30 this morning, raring to go. So, I got up at 6:00 and took them to the coffee house - we thought it best to go with the known entities of yogurt, toast, and Frosted Flakes, after yesterday's maple syrup incident.
The Canyon is cold this morning, and it looks like it might rain. The kids huddled together for warmth and are still cold now that we're back in the room. Josie just asked if Zion is cold, too. :)
We're having a leisurely morning of getting ourselves ready for the next leg of the trip, heading up to Zion NP via a stop at Desert View. The drive time is about 5 hours, according to the GPS. We sure have enjoyed our time here at the Grand Canyon.
Caught another journaler (Samantha) in action. :) They are enjoying reading their entries to each other, it's very cute. Their journals have become more detailed as they've learned more about sentence structure and story-telling in school. Mitch's first journal, from our Boston trip a year and a half ago, was mostly a collection of pictures with a squirrel peaking behind some object in one. Now he's writing cohesive paragraphs about specific events - same for Samantha and Josie. Awesome.
