We walked around the complex to see where everything is, and realized how easy it was to walk over to Sea World. Since our tickets are good for both days we're here, we decided to go on over. Given how awful it is to drive in southern California (San Diego was no better than Los Angeles), I am very, very glad that I got us a place close to Sea World. I didn't realize it was within walking distance - that is just a happy bonus.
We saw the Blue Horizons show first, and the kids didn't blink the whole time. It had numerous Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, two pilot whales, and several birds, including a macaw. They had people in the show, too - high divers, acrobats on fly wires, and trainers who swam and did tricks with the dolphins. The kids have forgotten all about the swimming pool, for now.
They have a shark exhibit, too - very similar to the one at Ripley's in Gatlinburg. Professor Mitchell schooled us all in the names and distinguishing features of each one. ;)
We are sitting at the Shamu Rocks show now. The kids are noshing on popcorn and frozen lemonades. Pictures to follow!
