Real camera shots - Painted Desert-esque drive from GC to Zion
You simply have to drive the Western US. So many beautiful places to see, and many from the seat of your car. Nowhere else looks like this. The drive from Grand Canyon north to Zion looks like a miniature version of the Painted Desert, which we didn't include on this trip. Bill and I got to see it 20 years ago on a real driving trip out West, where we drove the WHOLE way, not wimping out like we did this time with a fly-drive (there are advantages and disadvantages to both methods:). The Painted Desert is amazing and beautiful, and definitely worth being on a list of sites to see. But, this drive had hints of the Painted Desert to it, and was also very lovely.
